The sun’s out and campus is getting busier, which means it’s officially summer at Sussex!

During the summer the Â鶹´«Ã½ hosts a huge variety of international summer schools and conferences on campus, bringing people from across the world to learn, study and meet on campus. From July until mid-September you can expect to see a lot of visitors and summer school students around, who will be staying in our campus residences.

This year’s summer programmes include specialist undergraduate programmes to study physics, engineering and informatics, and international language schools such as Education First and Embassy Summer.

Our academic facilities and general teaching spaces (GTS) will be heavily used during the next few months, and there will be numerous events hosted on and around campus including Bramber House, Fulton, Falmer House, and in neighbouring Stanmer Park.

Please be conscious that it will get very busy if you are working or studying on campus over the summer. Many of our visitors will be under 18 years old and from various different countries, and won’t be familiar with navigating a busy campus environment.

Drive especially slowly and be aware of coaches, buses, visiting drivers, and large crowds of summer students crossing roads and walking around pedestrian areas, especially at busy locations such as Refectory Road and North-South Road.

The Online Room Booking System (ORBS) is also closed during the summer and transferred to the Conferences team, so if you need to book a lecture theatre or general teaching space then please contact spacewithus@sussex.ac.uk
