We have been delighted to welcome Dr Katesirin Ruamyod from Mahidol Â鶹´«Ã½, Thailand, to the SDDC team. Katesirin will be with us until November, thanks to an international collaboration supported by the Mahidol-Sussex Seed Fund grant, facilitated through our Global Partnerships team.
During her stay, Katesirin will be working closely with Prof Erika Mancini and Shamim Choudhury on a cutting-edge project. This research aims to explore the impact of long-term testosterone exposure on SKCa channels through specific phosphodiesterases (PDEs) and investigate how these factors contribute to alterations in SKCa channel regulation. The findings from this work could provide critical insights into the role of SKCa channels in cardiovascular health, hormonal regulation, and related physiological conditions.
Prof Mancini remarked, "We are thrilled to collaborate with Katesirin on this exciting research project. While she leads the exploration of these critical questions, we are also committed to providing her with advanced training and support. This partnership opportunity not only strengthens our collaborative efforts but also lays the groundwork for continued grant funding, fostering long-term scientific exchange."
