Sussex Universe | Spring '25 - #1: Plastics in the diets of wild mammals
Plastic pollution is a well-known issue for marine animals, but its impact on land animals is less understood. In this talk, Emily will discuss her research that has revealed the level to which plastics are being ingested by UK hedgehogs. She sheds light on the widespread nature of plastic contamination in terrestrial ecosystems, discussing her findings on different types of plastics across insect groups, pet foods, and land use types.
