Doctoral researcher's film to open film festival
Congratulations to School of Media, Film and Music doctoral researcher Daisy Asquith whose film Queerama has been chosen to open the largest documentary film festival in the UK, Sheffield Doc/Fest this June.
The film was made to commemorate the 50th annivarsary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality, and uses footage from the BFI National Archive to explore the relationships, desires, fears and expressions of gay men and women over the last century.
Queerama will also be screened at Glastonbury, Latitude, and as part of the BFI's Gross Indecency season.
