Laila El Baradei: General Counsel, Director of Governance and Compliance
Biography
Laila joined the Â鶹´«Ã½ in March 2023, following nine years at Plan International, an independent development and humanitarian organisation where she was latterly General Counsel.
Laila qualified as a lawyer in England and Wales, and New York and has over 16 years’ experience in private and in-house legal practice. Laila holds a Bachelor of Laws from LSE, a Master of Laws from Georgetown Â鶹´«Ã½ and a Master of Science in Development Studies from SOAS.
As our General Counsel and Director of Governance and Compliance, Laila oversees a team which provides professional legal, governance, information management and risk management expertise and advice to the Â鶹´«Ã½ to support the delivery of strategic and operational objectives. She brings leadership experience and expertise from different sectors to driving good governance and compliance with a broad range of legal and regulatory requirements.
Laila is a member of both the Â鶹´«Ã½ Executive Team and the Professional Services Leadership Team.
