Dissertation MA Film Studies (834P4)
60 credits, Level 7 (Masters)
All year
The third term and the following long vacation are reserved for the research and writing of an 18,000 word dissertation on a topic of your choosing. Where the core and optional modules present a structured learning environment, with a schedule and bibliography prepared by the course leader, the dissertation constitutes an original and substantial project that is devised by the student themselves, in consultation with an academic supervisor. The dissertation allows you to pursue an independent, detailed investigation of a specific area of film studies to which you are personally committed, and to devise a research programme that will enable you to engage with appropriate scholarly methodologies and to frame and pursue pertinent research questions.
Assessment
100%: Written assessment (Dissertation)
