15 credits, Level 4

Spring teaching

This module introduces you to several fundamental principles of biochemistry and metabolism.

You will learn about the:

  • structure and function of major classes of biomolecules, including proteins, lipids and carbohydrates
  • role of enzymes and enzyme kinetics in biological reactions
  • biochemistry of processes which support life, including cellular metabolism and its control.
