Careers

Become a better teacher, develop practice in your subject or phase, and learn to innovate. This course will improve your practice in the classroom and leadership at school.

You’ll graduate with the skills to lead change within schools:

  • research and analysis
  • communication
  • critical reflection
  • teaching practice.

If you’re interested in developing your teaching practice, you can apply your knowledge in the classroom, and improve your pupils' wellbeing and outcomes.

If you’re interested in management and leadership roles, you’re prepared for ongoing professional development and career progression. The degree fits well with the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

Some of our MA students have had their research published, including for the Chartered College of Teaching. Others have gone on to PhD studies.

I’m really looking forward to using what I’ve learned at Sussex – about the importance of dialogic talk to children – with the teachers at my school in Zambia.”Leffie Bampaninga
